Becoming a Smart Teacher
As a college student, always look forward to learning from their teachers who not only want to teach, but also want their students to be better people in general. Their lessons relate to the material, but also challenge you to increase the overall thought process.
Although some of the students prefer to learn by viewing endless PowerPoint presentations, but those teachers who have prepared lessons to really involve their students with the lesson material are really enjoyed by their students. This can be achieved by involving students in groups by organizing presentations where each of the students teaches other students. Teachers can also make their lesson material real with stories, multimedia, or guest speakers to increase the effect.
The teachers who teach their students by talking or communicating with them at their mental level clicks immediately among the students as compared to those who try to communicate with their students with high levels. Some of the best lessons student learns in a programming class with the professor, who did this by teaching them logic, not programming syntax.
Each program students coded was an easy concept to understand on paper, but the logic needed was challenging and really required them to think hard. Program after program really helped them learn logic which has helped them in other classes too.
Many teachers expect that all of the students completely understand the material being presented. Those teachers should be generally sought out who understand that the students don't know everything and they are willing to help. They also are willing to help many students who may be struggling with the material. With all the students in the same mindset and understanding, the teaching can enhance everyone. There are many other useful qualities that should be present in teachers and professors.
